![]() ![]() We get that Shay needed enemies but the Assassins spread throughout the city were effectively just doing what Templars were doing in other games. ![]() The only major issue I would have with it is the lazy portrayal of the NY Assassins. We got a lot of screentime with Haytham who is probably one of the best characters in the series. As an Irish person, I don't think I'll ever be able to get over the poor accents from both Shay and Liam but Shay's arc is phenomenal. The story is really, really underrated imo. It was effectively BF set in the Arctic and BF is regarded as one of the best in the series. I personally like Rogue because of the combat, stealth and story. Last but not least, I love the music which fits the era. It's neat to see kids playing, NPCs drunk and singing, choirs singing, guys playing that instrument box that cranks, and people shouting in markets for people to buy something. If you did get caught, you were automatically desynchronized and had to start again at the last checkpoint. Whereas that one mission in Black Flag where we had to sneak through Assassins without getting caught. You couldn't be seen by the cops, and if you were it's not an automatic mission fail just need to become anonymous. Like for example, there were two separate missions where we had to rescue Ned and Nigel. Missions aren't as strict as they were in Black Flag. They think it's pretty cool to see them in a video game.Ĭharles Dickens has some fun missions, and Alexander Graham Bell is a pretty cool guy in the game. The many chimneys blowing out smoke, and familiar landmarks that two of my British friends on Facebook can recognize. Love Black Butler which takes place in that era too, except Black Butler is 1880s. Love the setting of Victorian Era London. Both weapons have neat designs, especially with the jade. Jacob and Evie can fight with kukris or cane swords, but I have Jacob handling a kukris while I have Evie handle the cane sword. I find the grappling hook fun, makes me think I'm Spiderman lol. Love how each area has a main boss, and you have to do missions such as child liberation and Templar Hunting to draw them out. The outfits for them are pretty neat, along with the colors you can get. I like how we can switch between two characters, but I find myself playing Jacob most of the time. I feel there's alot to do to get XP and money, such as sabotaging cargo, hijacking carriages, fighting in a ring, etc. Before I only played Black Flag and I'm trying to work on Origins too. Never played Rogue, but currently working on Syndicate. And if you come to the conclusion that you want more Evie just like I did: the dlc was amazing. I just think it had the potential to be even better. Even with my criticisms I still love the game so much. I really think Syndicate deserves a playtrough. But this probably won’t bother others as much as it did bother me haha. Evie is the more classic stealthy Assassin. They are twins and both main protagonists. But the last thing they should have done is give one twin more screen time. The idea of twin Assassins, both with their own personalities and styles, is fantastic. It’s not just that I think this is unfair but it also makes the game feel a little out of balance. I didn’t notice it back when the game was just released because I hadn’t played many games at that point and was just happy to play as a badass female Assassin. My biggest criticism personally has to do with how they treated Evie: she was done dirty, heavily over shadowed by her brother (when it comes to missions) and that still pisses me off. That’s how I remember the game in general: a lot of fun. The combat was alright but I remember stealth being a lot of fun. I haven’t played Rogue yet but Syndicate is not only my favourite AC game so far but it’s the game that made me fall in love with the series. ![]()
